How to Change Locations on Your Browser When Activating a Streaming Service

Some streaming services, like Showtime Anytime require you to activate your streaming device through a browser. Whether on Mobile or PC this can be done by downloading the Opera browser which has a free, built in VPN.

PC/Mac users:

Step 1:

Download and install Opera browser for Windows or Mac here

Step 2:

Open  Opera browser from your PC/Mac and click on the Opera symbol (Red O) on the top left corner of the screen and choose Settings.

Step 3:

In the settings menu, click on  Advanced on the left side of the screen and then click on Features.

Step 4:

Enable the  VPN by clicking the slider.

Step 5:

Click on the VPN button to the left of the URL bar and choose  Americas under Virtual Location.

You can now follow the on-screen instructions on your Fire TV device and activate any accounts that requires a US IP using this browser while the VPN is enabled.

Mobile Users:

Step 1:

Download Opera through Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and launch it.

Step 2:

Tap the Opera Icon in the bottom corner.

Step 3:

Tap Setting in the menu that appears.

Step 4:

Tap on VPN

Step 5:

Enable the VPN by tapping the slider. Uncheck "Use VPN for private tabs only", and set Virtual Location to America for US services.

You can now follow the on-screen instructions on your Fire TV device and activate any accounts that requires being in the US using this browser while the VPN is enabled.
