How to set up Smart DNS on Apple TV
Important! Ensure you restart the Apple TV after following this guide.
You have two ways to set up StreamLocator DNS on your Apple Tv device, you can use either Option 1 or Option 2 as described below.
Option 1:
Setting up using DoH:
From the main page of the Apple TV device, click on Settings.
Next, choose General and navigate to Privacy and Security.
Scroll down to Share Apple TV Analytics. Instead of selecting it, press the Play button on the remote.
Select Add Profile.
Enter the configuration file URL: https://bit.ly/SLconfig and select Done.
On the next page, Install Profile page, click on Install
You will be shown a warning screen, click on Install.
You will now see an Install Profile screen, click on Install
Select Done on the profile page.
- Restart Your Device to apply changes.
- Press Here to activate StreamLocator on your network.
Congratulations!
You’re ready to stream.
Option 2:
Set the DNS address directly on the Apple TV:
Navigate to your Apple TV Settings via the Home screen. In the Settings section, proceed to General > Network.
Choose your connection type, WiFi for a wireless network or Ethernet, if you have a wired connection.
Next, scroll down to Configure DNS and switch it to Manual.
On the next page, enter our Primary DNS address, and then click Done

Restart your Apple TV to apply changes.
Press here to activate StreamLocator on your network. You can activate from any device connected to the same network as your Apple TV.
