How to set up Smart DNS on MacOS and Safari browser

Important! Ensure you restart your MacOS device fully after following this guide.

Open up a browser window and download our Apple config file for StreamLocator Smart DNS from our link here.

Alternatively, you can also enter this into the URL bar at the top of your browser window - https://bit.ly/SLconfig

The config should start downloading. After it finished, find the config file called sl.mobileconfig (most likely in your Downloads folder) and double-click it.

You should see this notification pop up to confirm you did it correctly:

Next, open up your Mac's System Preferences from the top menu bar and select Profile Downloaded from the side menu.

If you do not see the Profile Downloaded option ensure you have double clicked the config file you downloaded in the previous step and received the notification just like the screenshot above.

Alternatively, navigate to General -> Device Management to get to the same place.

On the next screen you should see our config called Encrypted DNS (DoH, DoT). Double click it, then select Install and approve the installation.

You can also remove the config file whenever you like to return to default DNS settings by simply clicking the Minus (-) button inside the same "Device Management" section in the settings.

That's it! Simply restart your Mac and you should be ready to go!
