Hardware specs

StreamLocator developed a proprietary OpenWRT based firmware running on a dual band router based on the Mediatek MT7621A chipset.

It has 1 WAN and 4 LAN gigabit ports for wired connection and comes with an ethernet cable and a power supply.

We tested the router with measured speeds in the 200 - 300 Mbps range via Wi-Fi and in the range of 350-450 Mbps via a wired connection.

5 Mbps is required for HD streaming while 25 Mbps is needed for 4K streaming.

  • IEEE 802.11n/b/g - 2.4 GHz
  • IEEE 802.11ac/n/a - 5 GHz
