How to change your Samsung Smart TV country to download foreign apps
Note that as of around 2022, most newer Samsung TV running TizenOS no longer follow the same steps and do not support swithcing to countries that are outside of the general region they were bought in.
For example, a Samsung TV bought in Canada will only be able to switch its app store to other countries considered to be in North America like the USA. Alternatively, if I bought my Samsung TV in the EU, I will only be able to change to countries within the EU.
For TV's that still support changing countries and for older Samsung models see our guides below:
Different generations of Samsung TV's require slightly different directions to switch your country. To identify the model and generation of your Samsung TV, access the Settings menu and find the Contact Samsung/Samsung Support or look at the sticker on the back for a model number like this "UE55F8000AFXZ" as an example.
We identify the generation of the TV by looking at the letters after the first number (can be 2 letters as well). In our previous example "UE55F8000AFXZ" the letter F will be our generation. Now that you've found your TV's generation, follow our guide for your generation below:
Note that changing the Samsung TV's country requires the TV to be re-setup - resetting it to factory settings. This means you will not be able to keep apps you've downloaded between regions.
