Smart DNS - Streaming limitations and special requirements

Smart DNS has some limitations with some specific devices (like Roku) and service (like Netflix). Below we will expand on these devices and services and any special limitations or requirements you need to use StreamLocator Smart DNS on them.

Netflix:

Netflix is not supported using Smart DNS on some devices. See device list and alternative below:

  1. Android TV and Amazon Fire TV devices - Fire TV/Stick/Cube, Nvidia Shield, Xiaomi Mi Box, Chromecast with Google TV, Sony Smart TV (running Android TV) and any other Android TV based devices.

How to watch anyway: Download the StreamLocator app from the app store directly on your Android/Fire TV device and use it instead of Smart DNS.

Roku devices, game consoles and LG TVs - Roku devices, Xbox, PlayStation and LG TV's running WebOS.

Streaming devices:

Roku
