How to use YouTube TV on an Android phone

Step 1: Connect your Android phone to StreamLocator

Before opening YouTube TV, make sure your Android phone is using StreamLocator. You can check out our guide on setting up Android Mobile devices here.

Step 2: Install a GPS spoofing app

On your Android phone:

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. We used Fake GPS Joystick, but you can use any GPS spoofer you prefer.
  3. Install the app.
  4. Open the app and follow the setup instructions.

YouTube TV checks the phone’s GPS location, so it needs to match the area linked to the YouTube TV account.

Step 3: Enable mock location on Android

The GPS app may ask you to enable Developer Options and set it as your mock location app.

Usually, this works like this:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Go to About phone.
  3. Tap Build number several times until Developer Options are enabled.
  4. Go back to Settings.
  5. Open Developer Options.
  6. Find Select mock location app.
  7. Choose Fake GPS Joystick.

'The wording may be slightly different depending on the Android phone model.'

Step 4: Set the GPS location

In the GPS spoofing app, set the location to the area linked to the YouTube TV account.

Use the following coordinates.

Latitude: 33.728323853875374

Longitude: -96.4738567918539

Once the location is set, start the GPS spoofing process.

Step 5: Open YouTube TV

After the GPS spoofing app is running:

  1. Open the YouTube TV app.
  2. Sign in to the YouTube TV account.
  3. Allow location access if YouTube TV asks.
  4. Try playing a local channel.

Because StreamLocator handles network location and the GPS app handles the phone’s GPS location, YouTube TV should see the Android phone in the correct area.

Important note

Do not turn off the GPS spoofing app while watching YouTube TV on your Android Mobile device.

If YouTube TV checks the phone location again and the GPS spoofing app is off, it may detect the real location and block access.

For Android phones, both checks happen on the same device:

  1. StreamLocator handles the internet/network location.
  2. The GPS spoofing app handles the phone’s GPS location.

So, before opening YouTube TV, make sure both are active.
