How to access YouTube TV on Apple TV
Step 1: Set up StreamLocator Apple TV
Follow our quick guide. Once StreamLocator is active, YouTube TV should recognise your Apple TV connection as coming from the US.
Step 2: Set up the GPS location on your phone first
YouTube TV may ask you to verify your location using your mobile phone. This is because Apple TV itself does not normally provide the same GPS-style location check as a phone.
On your phone:
- Install and set up the GPS spoofing app of your choice
- Set the location to the following coordinates
Latitude: 33.728323853875374
Longitude: -96.4738567918539
- Start the GPS spoofing process
- Open the YouTube TV app on your phone
- Allow YouTube TV to check your location
This updates the location on the YouTube TV account before you try to watch on Apple TV.
Step 3: Open YouTube TV on Apple TV
On your Apple TV:
- Open the YouTube TV app
- Sign in to the same YouTube TV account
- Try to play a local channel
This is usually what triggers YouTube TV to make that GPS check.
Step 4: Complete the mobile verification
If YouTube TV asks you to verify your location using your phone:
- Leave the YouTube TV app open on Apple TV
- Follow the instructions shown on the Apple TV screen
- On your phone, make sure the GPS spoofer is still running
- Complete the YouTube TV mobile location verification while GPS is spoofed
Step 5: Go back to Apple TV and play YouTube TV
Once the mobile verification is complete:
- Return to the YouTube TV app on Apple TV
- Play a local channel again
- Playback should now work through the Apple TV
After this is done, you should not normally need to repeat the process unless you open YouTube TV on the phone without the GPS spoofer running.
