How to pay for US streaming services

In general, to pay for a US streaming service such as Hulu, HBO Max, or Peacock, you'll need a US payment method.

Since you may not always have access to a US payment method, we have two suggestions. You can use 3rd party service like usunlocked. They will provide a US payment method and a US billing address so you can pay directly with US cards.

Alternatively, if you'd rather not pay for another service, you can use the Apple ID method. This involves creating a US  Apple ID and then adding US iTunes Gift Cards to the US Apple ID. Below we outline the steps required.

  • First, create a US Apple ID. To see how to easily create a US Apple ID, take a look at our short guide here.
  • Once you have the Apple ID, you will need to purchase US iTunes Gift Cards. There are various marketplaces where you can buy them, such as OffGamers, Eneba and G2A, or you can use a price comparison platform like gg.deals to find the best deal.
  • Log in to your new US Apple ID on an Apple device, in iTunes, or in a web browser, then redeem the voucher. The balance will then be added to your Apple ID.
  • On an iOS or TVOS device, log in to your new US Apple ID. Make sure your device is configured to use StreamLocator, then launch the US streaming app you want to subscribe to. Click Subscribe in the app to continue signing up; the payment will be processed using the vouchers associated with your Apple ID.
